I don’t blame you for not understanding Regulatory,
For finding it confusing
Thinking it’s just a tick box
Or that it’s solely about compliance.
For thinking that anyone can do it
For assuming Regulatory is just there to execute your orders.
Because, of course, we are just doers,
Not strategic thought partners
Nor creative innovators
But more like glorified secretaries,
Filling in forms, typing up documents.
An expense drain for the company.

So please forgive us.
If we don’t shout loud about what we do,
Who we are,
The value we bring.
How we help others believe in you and your drugs
How we help you to tread on the right path
Towards making your dream a reality.
Yes, it might involve tough love,
And some challenging conversations,
But this is all with the best of intentions!

Please note:
We tend to be introverts,
Quiet and goggle-eyed,
Often lurking behind piles of paper
Or at least two super-colossal screens
Who’d prefer to get on with the job
Who are more comfortable to let our actions speak for themselves.
Not talk for the sake of talking
Nor deal with all the politics.
We’d prefer to focus on what really matters
To pull together as a Team
To move things forward for the sake of All of Us
Efficiently and effectively.
